Barkarama Loves: The PawPost Doggy Gift Box

Humans get their Graze and Glossy Boxes so it seems only fair that dogs get a piece of the gift box action. While you may have already heard of a few fido-focused gift subscription services in the UK, we’re pretty sure that none of them quite stack up to match the PawPost box.

Available to purchase as a one-off or a longer-term subscription, each PawPost box comes complete with five to seven quality items, all handpicked for the style, fun and health conscious hound and owner. And better still, £1 of every box sold goes directly to Pup Aid – the anti-puppy farming awareness group

Basil received his PawPost box last month on a visit to my parents, and I’ve honestly never seen such a frenzy of excitement from him. With the box half opened and cute wrapping paper still in tact, my Boston Terror Terrier managed to pose for the camera for all of 15 seconds before sweeping in for the stuffed horse toy and tearing around my folk’s apartment with wild abandonment.

In his capacity as Barkarama’s chief reviewer, Basil was kindly gifted a preview box, to give us a taste of what to expect from this new kid on the doggy block. His hound haul was mighty impressive, and not one item could be classed as doggy tat. Included in Basil’s PawPost box - the aforementioned plush horse toy, which due to Basil being a destructive sod when it comes to all things stuffed has since been gifted to my auntie’s Chorkie puppy Fergie,; Pooch & Mutt bone biscuit treats, Scruffy Chops Conditioner, Billy + Margot Fish Skin Cubes, a canvas treat bag and Soopa Coconut Dog Chews. Pretty darn good wouldn’t you agree?

We know and love all the brands featured in our box but for those making new discoveries, each pack includes a useful card describing each product and where to visit for future purchases, should a particular item be a massive hit with your pooch.

Priced at £22.95 for a one-box purchase, PawPost’s pricing is a little higher than some of the other doggy gift boxes we’ve seen. However, with PawPost you definitely get what you pay for and that’s quality items, which both you and your dog are going to love, and purchase again in the future. Sign up to their subscription service for 3 months or more and the price comes down.

THE VERDICT: for the dog - a lucky dip of wonder that is perfect for birthdays, Christmas or to simply say ‘I woof you’. For humans – an easy gift to cover all bases and a great way to discover new brands to treat your dog.

PS for our Cat-arama fans, PawPost boxes are also available for kitties.
