Puparazzi: This Week’s Hottest Hound Events

What a week it’s been for the hounds of London. First US brand Paige Denim flew in from LA for the official launch of Paige for Mungo and Maud, and then last night saw dog-loving celebs turn out for the studded Collars & Coats gala in aid of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

In our latest post we share the highlights from this wonderfully woof-orientated week …

On Wednesday evening we made our way West to luxury pet outfitter’s Mungo and Maud for the official launch of their denim-themed Paige for Mungo & Maud collection, which we blogged about earlier in the week. Sadly Basil Barkarama wasn’t in tow, as he’d an operation earlier in the week so stayed at home nursing his stitches. To make up for his absence, I brought along my new pal Hannah from Pup Tart and ‘wore' Basil instead – see me in my Boston Terrier sweater dress by below.

We pawed over the new denim dog beds and bones whilst chatting to model Tuuili Shipster, who was gorgeous dog Beans the Greyhound. Beans was a little saddened by Basil’s absence after their brief flirtation at the Dogs Trust Honours Awards earlier this year. Also out for the evening was fellow Boston Terrier owner Meg Matthews, Vogue’s Sarah Harris and of course the dog/denim designer dream team Nicola Sacher of Mungo & Maud and Paige Denim’s Paige Adams Geller. Last night saw Battersea Dogs & Cats Home enjoy their biggest night of the year – the annual Collars & Coats gala. Giving a unique spin on the golden age of cinema, the UK’s brightest stars turned out for the Hollywoof themed event to help raise funds and awareness for one of the UK’s largest dog home.

Forming a ‘guard of honour’, no less than 50 dogs in need of new homes lined the red carpet to welcome high profile guests including male model David Gandy (swoon), Gary & Danielle Lineker, TV dancing duo Ashleigh Butler and Pudsey, Arlene Phillips, Craig Revel Horwood, and the evening’s hosts Amanda Holden and well-known Battersea supporter Paul O’Grady.

A fabulous evening of dining, drinking and discussing the stars of the show – the dogs – star guests and their four-legged friends were also given access to the VIP (Very Important Pooches) Pet Emporium room hosted by pet lifestyle website PetsPyjamas.com. However, with fundraising at the heart of the glitz and glamour, guests were encouraged to dig deep for an exclusive auction to win an array of luxury gifts, money can’t buy experiences and our favourite prize – a once in a lifetime opportunity to ‘go walkies’ with one of nine celebrities including Jeremy Irons, David Gandy and Mollie King to name but a few.

The auction to win a dog-walking date with a celebrity is still open on ebay for a few more hours so that one-on-one time with your much-loved star can still be yours! At our last check David had tipped the £5,000 mark so sadly that means I’ll have to make do with the Movember moustach-ed man in my life! To view the other celebrities taking part and to bid, visit Collarsandcoats.org.uk/ebay now. The auction ends at midnight tonight (Friday 8th November).

That’s quite enough words for now - here’s a few of the highlights from the night.
