Canine Camo, Hip Hound Tags, Dog-Friendly London Bus Tours and Booking Up Getaways With Your Furry Bestie | What’s On Our January Radar

Out with the old, in with the new I say. For our breed of must-have doggy buys and must-do’s, check out what's on our January radar.

WEAR: it has to be head to paws Fetch & Follow x Lead The Walk. A collaboration between some of East London’s finest, it's cool camo for canines and it’s awesome. The hero of the collection is the Waterproof Dog Coat, lined with cosy fleece so your dog will be ready to fight all this ghastly winter decide to throw at them. Spotted on some of our fave pack leaders – Basil included of course, I predict it will be this year’s doggy trophy jacket. Prices start at £12, get them while their hot > Leadthewalk.com

ACCESSORISE: ever wish your dog could talk? Well now they can with these acrylic tags of amusement from my compadre Growlmama and her muse Frida the Grenchie (who I really want to be Basil’s girlfriend). Designed as four-legged frosting for your dog’s collar or lead rather than an ID tag, they’re cool AF! Phrases vary from sweet to obnoxious (just how we like it), and priced £10 per tag, let your dog have their say @ Growlees.com

SOOTHE: snow joke that all this cold weather is rough on your dog’s paws so I keep Basil’s tootsies tip top with a slather of Wildwash Healing Paw Balm. Packed with natural ingredients including Sweet Almond Oil and Frankincense, it’s not only gentle and super conditioning (great for crusty snouts as well) but it smells delicious too so good, in fact, I’m tempted to smear it over my own hooves. Priced £12.95 > Wildwash.co.uk

BOOK-IT – get your diary and cash card out because we’ve got three hound and human reccos worthy of your time and cashola…

All Aboard The MORE TH>N DOGGYSSENTI>LS London Bus Tour: the world’s first ever city tour bus for dogs will be cruising by some of the best London sights, parks and city centre dog-walking spots this coming week for you and your pup’s amusement. Dog lovers will also get the chance to enrich their canine knowledge during the 90-minute tour with live onboard commentary revealing London’s doggy history including nuggets on the dogs of Downing Street and the Queen’s corgis. The tour takes place this Tuesday 17th January to Thursday 19th January, with buses departing from Lambeth Bridge at 10am, 12pm and 2pm daily. I’m gutted we can't make it so can one of you go for us and report back? Book your (free) tickets > Billetto.co.uk/worlds-first-tour-bus-for-dogs

Doggy Afternoon Tea At The Egerton House Hotel: here’s your chance take tea with your furry bestie somewhere fancy at this dog-friendly hotel in the upmarket postcode of London’s Knightsbridge. While you fill your face with finger sandwiches, pastries and scones, your dog will be served with treats including chicken and beef meatloaf, homemade biscuits and doggy ice cream. They'll also be given a special chew toy to take home.  Walk off the calories afterwards at Hyde Park. Tea for you starts at £40 and it’s £15 for dogs. To book, call The Egerton House Hotel on 0207 589 2412.

A Getaway with PeysPyjamas: take your pick from more than 2,000 hotels, cottages, country houses and B&Bs around the UK and Europe, that really DO want you and your dog to stay. Not your average book-it dot com experience, you book your getaway via PetsPyjamas’ expert Pet Concierges, who get an understanding of you and your dog to ensure you find your perfect break. PLUS your dog will also be treated to a personalised welcome box on arrival. I’ve got my eye on one of their newer properties – The Tewkesbury Park Hotel, who are offering ‘The Canine Retreat’ package – two-nights with afternoon tea on arrival, breakfast (with a sausage for Baz), a three-course dinner on one of the nights, a £25 spa voucher and a walking guide from the hotel dog Puddle – all for £254! To keep us all happy, there’s gorgeous walks, an 18-hole golf course (for the other half), a luxurious handmade dog bed in the room and an outdoor hot tub with a champagne buzzer!
