TV Vet Marc Abrahams and his dog-loving showbiz pals will be back in North London’s Primrose Hill Park for the fourth Pup Aid event – a fun, celebrity judged dog show aimed at raising awareness of the horrific practice of puppy farming.

Earlier this week we were fortunate enough to attend the Dogs Trust Honours Awards – an annual event, now in its sixth year, honouring the UK’s most courageous and heroic canines. Basil and I joined over 20 dogs and 100 humans including celebrities such as Donna Air, Arlene Phillips and Brix Smith-Start at swanky private members club Home House to celebrate the unique relationship between man and dog.

New pet boutique BOW WOW London has opened up in the heart of the city’s West End to cater for the growing number of hounds who accompany their owners to the office. With our own day job being located right on their door step, we caught wind of their opening early stopping by to say hello to co-owners Taro Takeuchi and Jason Maddocks, as they were in the throws of setting up shop at 50a Earlham Street in Covent Garden’s stylish Seven Dials area. From then on we were on countdown to their launch finding any excuse to wander past their door until the official opening, which was hosted by celebrity dog owner Sheridan Smith and her Japanese Spitz Trish.

September is already shaping up to be a good month in our doggie calendar – first with Diva Dogs Day at the end of the month and now Pup Aid 2012, an all day festival for dog lovers designed to fight back against the cruel trade of puppy farms.

Hounds, famous dog owners and celebs of the pup-loving kind hit the town on Monday night to show their sup-pawt for the annual Dogs Trust Honours Awards, which recognises dogs that have performed outstanding acts of bravery, dedication or devotion – and just like Dawn Porter and her dog Potato above, we were there to join them!
